NH17 Mumbai-Goa highway is getting a rapid upgrade to 4 lanes from just 2 lanes. The upgrade also includes the addition of 29 bridges and a 1.4 km tunnel further reducing the travel distance.
New International Airport near Panvel is just 165 km from Dapoli. This is sure to result in additional attention from international tourists towards Dapoli as well as the Konkan region.
The 2-lane road from Pune to Mangaon is getting expanded to 4 lanes. An additional tunnel section in Tamhini Ghat will further reduce the travel distance by 24 km and will bring down the travel time between Pune and Dapoli to just 2.5 hours.
The grand project by Maharashtra and Goa governments plans to connect Mumbai to Goa through a coastal road that runs parallel to NH17. This route is planned purely to boost the tourism in Konkan region and will be free from any heavy vehicle traffic.
With the latest sanctions of seaways from Mumbai to Konkan and Goa, Dapoli is just 2.5 hours away from Gateway of India and Navi Mumbai Belapur Jetty.
